In a press release the entity noted that the disorder took place at night until late in the morning when a group broke into the premises of that official body.
Shortly before, on Sunday evening, nearly 500 women gathered on the steps of Sonora University Museum to begin a peaceful march through downtown Hermosillo, the capital of the state that lasted for hours and kept vehicle traffic closed.
With tarpaulins and banners in hand, the women demanded that state and federal authorities stem the tide of violence against women and girls, which has killed many, and take security measures.
Women all over the country are preparing for a day of general strike on March 9, in which no woman will go to work. They will hold marches and rallies, workshops and other acts of denunciation. Many will not even leave their homes.
