As part of the so-called Enough Day, which promotes the request to impeach the president, Brazilians said on Change.org, a self-styled social enterprise, that Bolsonaro denies the Covid-19 pandemic, promotes crowds and demonstrations, and do not think of either the victims or the sick.
Now the president’s priority is the return of the regional and national football championships, the call says.
«We have to further increase pressure on the Congress to open an impeachment of the president or many victims will be lost,» said the group, which plans to collect 150,000 signatures (they have more than 75,000 so far) to submit the collective demand.
On the other hand, some 600 lawyers published a manifesto against Bolsonaro and his attacks on democratic institutions, especially the Supreme Federal Court, the National Congress and the media.
In the statement, the signatories said that Brazil, its institutions, its people cannot continue to be attacked by someone democratically proclaimed as president of the Republic.
«We all have the strong conviction that law only makes sense when it is the promoter of justice. We all think that it is necessary to say Enough to this night of terror with which they are trying to cover this country,» says the communiqué, which concludes with the following phrase: «Let us be intolerant with the intolerants».
