In light of recent massacres, the party issued a communiqué in which it rejects such actions, like the one perpetrated in Samaniego municipality, in Nariño department, where eight young people were killed, or in a border zone between Cauca and Nariño, where four minors were assassinated during the weekend.
«We reject all violent actions against our youths, indigenous people and common people. We no longer want our youths to be the image in campaigns for the then candidates and now elected representatives of the government who create illusions and show off with their lies, saying that 10% of our youths will be part of the payrolls in national institutions,» the FARC said.
The party reminded Duque of his commitment to the peace process signed in Havana, Cuba, in 2016, and ratified at the Colon Theater in Bogota, on August 7, 2018, when he took office as Colombia’s president. He sworn and agreed, in front of the Colombian people, to comply faithfully with the Constitution and the laws of Colombia.
«You rule for everyone and not only for a few, once and for all, start to rule for Colombians who demand compliance with rights with equality and social justice,» the FARC stressed in the communiqué.
