The president’s agenda includes a bilateral meeting with the secretary general of the Central American Integration System and former president of Guatemala, Vinicio Cerezo, and a separate meeting with the heads of Government of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, and El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, at midday.
According to the source, the Panamanian president will participate in the solemn session of the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, where Gianmattei and his vice president, Guillermo Castillo, will swear-in and take office.
Cortizo traveled to Guatemala this morning and will return to the country at 6:30 pm (local time), accompanied by Foreign Minister Alejandro Ferrer.
The delegation also includes the Minister of Social Development, Markova Concepcion, and Labour, Doris Zapata; the President of the Parliament’s International Relations Committee, Fernando Arce, and the National Secretary of the Public-Private Association, Saleh Asvat.
