Due to Covid-19, the forum was held by videoconference with the participation of the president of the board of directors of Angola’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA), Vicente Soares; and the head of the homologous institution in Cuba, Antonio Luis Carricarte.
Other members from both entities, ministerial directors, entrepreneurs and Cuban diplomats also took part in the talks, with the idea of holding subsequent meetings of a sectoral nature in order to boost concrete projects between the companies.
According to Soares, Cuba is a very special country for Angolans due to the historic ties of sisterhood, collaboration in different areas and the presence here of its internationalist fighters during the war.
The CCIA representative distinguished the possibility of increasing links in agriculture, renewable energy, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry; waste recycling and technical-professional training.
In Carricarte’s opinion, Cuba is going through a difficult situation due to the impact of Covid-19 and the tightening of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade.
