The research, carried out by the National Center for Medical Genetics, was presented by Dr. Beatriz Marcheco, director of that institution, at a meeting with President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, and also Cuban scientists.
Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales, referring to the study, pointed out these results will allow to improve the strategies of population interventions.
Likewise, he said it will make it possible to «adjust protocols with a view to normality we must go through,» and some of its elements will favor clinical trials of Cuban vaccine candidates.
The study included 1,182 people recovered from the new coronavirus, and 502 first-degree relatives who live with them and tested negative.
