Cuba reports on new damages caused by US blockade

Havana, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's losses due to the blockade imposed by the United States have exceeded five billion dollars over the last year, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Thursday.

The head of Cuban diplomacy noted that it is the first time in a year that the damages to the Caribbean island exceed five billion dollars, showing that Washington has tightened the blockade during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The foreign minister’s statements came at a press conference to present the report on Cuba’s losses due to the US blockade, which will be submitted to the United Nations General Assembly next year.

The blockade is genocidal and an act of war, Rodriguez stressed.
