Mohsen, who lost a leg in the war imposed on the country, told the media that in the first phase of his initiative he himself planted 500 plants in an area of seven hectares in the city of Mesyaf in Hama, while in a second phase he planted another two thousand seedlings in the area of Bashnin, in cooperation with the community and local authorities.
So far, the campaign, which began earlier this year, also includes 5,000 pine seedlings planted in Hialeen, another area affected by natural or extremist fires in those regions.
The initiative, welcomed not only by the various communities, has the support of public and private organizations in Hama and is now ready to be extended to those of Tartus and Latakia, on the Syrian Mediterranean coast, Homs and areas near the capital.
