Only in Damascus, 50,000 students took their tests in the 14 faculties for humanities and social sciences, reported Fatina Al Shaal, responsible for these specialties.
Meanwhile, there were 17,000 students tested for mechanical engineering careers and 12,000 for law.
Syrian higher education has more than 20 universities, public and private, distributed between the capital and the most important cities, especially Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Tartus and Latakia, several of which were restored after the damages caused in the war imposed on this country.
