Russia suspends railway communication with Ukraine and Moldova

Moscow, Mar 15 (Prensa Latina) Russia has announced the suspension of rail traffic with Ukraine and Moldova, after it became known that these two countries had halted communication with other countries to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Russia’s rail transit authorities are creating conditions to warn passengers of trains to Odessa, Kiev and Chisinau about the end of trips.

In addition, Russia closed its land borders with Poland and Norway, to prevent the spread of the aforementioned pandemic.

However, the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sabianin, clarified that there is no provision to end the work of public transport, state entities or organizations at the moment, although he did clarify that work is being done with risk groups.

In addition, it became known that the health authorities discharged 52 people after having been subjected to quarantine, without presenting any problems, following contact with people who were found to have contracted the COVID-19. They were all held in the capital center of Kommunarka, the mayor’s office reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia and head of the intergovernmental committee to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Tigran Avinian, reported that so far 20 cases of the virus have been detected.

Avinian gave provisions for the organization within 10 days of a remote working regime for a large part of public employees, and spoke of additional efforts being made to protect people over 60, diabetics, people with heart or respiratory diseases.

The authorities of the country ruled out the presence of Russian citizens among the passengers of an Aeroflot flight from Paris to Tashkent, with a stopover in Moscow, among whose passengers an Uzbek traveler infected with the coronavirus was detected.

The flight took place last Tuesday, three days before Armenia’s suspension of flights from France, where the death toll has already reached at least 95 among more than 5,000 infected.
