Such percentage represents that out of the 885 killed in Rio by police actions during the first six months of last year, 711 were black or mulatto.

According to the publication, 75.4 percent of victims killed by the police throughout Brazil were black.
For Gabriel Sampaio, lawyer and coordinator of the Institutional Violence Program for Conectas Human Rights, the racial component of the deaths cannot be denied.
