According to videos and photos of the tour, Al Assad met with local people, particularly in the town of Balouran, one of the most damaged regions in the province, 348 kilometers north of Damascus.
The president noted that with everyone’s support, the residents in the region will ratify their attachment to the land they work and will cultivate it again as soon as possible.
Since last Friday, 156 fires, including 95 in Latakia, 49 in Tartous and 12 in Homs, have been reported, destroying hundreds of hectares of crops and forests.
