The Amapá Electricity Company maintains the rotation system with a deadline for the normalization of electrical energy set for November 26th, after a fire in a substation left 14 out of the 16 districts in the region without power.
The population is complaining of financial losses such as burned electronic equipment and even burned houses, especially in the periphery.
According to Rozineide Cardoso, a resident of the community on 10th Avenida do Congós, on the outskirts of Macapá, the state capital, the rationing proposed by the Electricity COmpany does not meet the stipulated schedule.
«The energy stays on for three hours, then they turn it off and it takes time to return, especially at night,» he denounced.
In the last two weeks, residents have held several protests in the city, two of them in front of the North Palace, the seat of the state government.
Daniel Lima, one of the organizers of the SOS Amapá Movement, pointed out that the population is exhausted and worried about the many damages suffered by the blackout.
