The information was released in statements at the Miraflores Palace, Caracas, where the Covid-19 Presidential Commission on Prevention is in permanent session to monitor this pandemic.
He also announced the suspension of classes from next Monday March 16 across the country, the mandatory use of masks in the subway and the suspension of activities in cultural centers.
Among the prevention measures, the transport authorities declared that the Caracas Metro will be disinfected in each circuit.
The day before, the president, Nicolás Maduro, declared that the country is prepared to face the pandemic, acknowledged the aid provided by Cuba and China, and noted that all coordination is carried out with the World Health Organization, for the application of adequate strategies.
