Speaking to Venezolana TV channel, Bernal detailed that each person is checked, in order to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic from entering into Venezuela from Colombia in which positive cases show exponential growth.
Bernal also stated that fingerprints are taken and an investigation process is being carried out to find out if citizens have a record or any open investigation by the intelligence and state security agencies, due to the threat from the neighboring country through mercenary groups and paramilitaries.
In this regard, he recalled that four people who were part of this infiltration strategy to generate destabilization in Venezuela were arrested on Monday.
In turn, Bernal reported that there was a clash on Tuesday between Venezuelan troops and members of Los Rastrojos narco-paramilitary group in the Boca de Grita sector, located two kilometers off Colombia, which resulted in two paramilitaries being killed, nicknamed El Caracas and El Turro, with extensive police records in both Colombia and Venezuela.
During the clash, two AR-15 rifles, a revolver, a shotgun, two fragmentary grenades were seized, as well as four radios, AR-15 cartridges, uniforms and Colombian military bags, supplies, field tents and a Toyota truck, Bernal said.
