The Minister of the sector, Suhail Abdul Latif, indicated that the construction of the complex with 24,754 houses is expected to be completed by 2024, and specified that the cost of the houses will be subsidized by the Government.
This urbanization project, called Dimas, includes schools, parks, places of worship, health center and garages for vehicles. The work in this sense was controlled by a government commission that also visited several locations in Damascus province to analyze difficulties in general in the service sector and agriculture.
Damascus province has an area of 18,100 square kilometers, the fifth largest in the country, and a population of more than three million.
