Deaths rose to 7,188, about 172 more than 7,016 reported on Tuesday.
The latest statistics inform that 176,000 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours in the world, the second consecutive record, amounting to 8,350,000 deaths due to the lethal disease.
The official report also states that the spread of the disease is making progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in the group of states that report more than 100,000 cases after a fateful Wednesday during which 4,900 new cases were reported.
Another country with alarming figures is Qatar, where there are 83,174 coronavirus cases, above South Africa, with 80,412 patients.
