The current national emergency expires on September 3, having fulfilled the 45 days approved by parliament at the request of the former president Danilo Medina.
According to the press, senators approved including the request for extending the agenda of this afternoon’s session of that chamber to expedite its analysis and send it to the Chamber of Deputies.
From March to June, the country experienced several periods of states of emergency with curfews included, by virtue of article 28 of Bill number 21-18, on regulation of the States of exception addressed by the Constitution of the Republic.
