The 2021-2026 legislature will be in session as of next January 5, characterized by the absolute majority of 90 percent won by the Great Patriotic Pole on December 6 elections.
In that regard, Jaua urged the PSUV and its allies to open up to all sectors of Venezuelan society in search of the necessary consensus to «unblock» the game in terms of policies.
In statements to Union Radio, the socialist leader also noted the daunting challenges of the new National Assembly, regarding transcendental issues of the economy such as the renegotiation of the foreign debt or the boost of investments in the country, all within the framework of the Constitution and without renouncing sovereignty.
Likewise, Jaua affirmed that public management in Venezuela must be assessed in the context of the impact of the US unilateral coercive measures on the nation.
In that regard, he recalled the abrupt downturn in income resulting from the difficulties to sell oil in the international market, as well as the persecution and imposition of sanctions to those who try to do business with the Venezuelan State.
Jaua rejected the US policy of isolating Venezuela, also supported by Washington’s allies, in addition to the permanent threat of aggression.
