According to various media outlets in Moscow, the hostage-taker, wearing a black coat, sports trousers and a mask, was holding a yellow package in his hand, which he says contains a bomb.
Another version, quoted by Russia´s Interior Ministry, indicated that the hostage-taker entered the bank as an alleged home food distributor and announced that the facility was undermined.
Law enforcement specialists seek to enter into a negotiation with the attacker, while a rapid response force detachment of the National Guard was deployed on the bank, based in Zemlianoi Val 41 Street, the press reported.
In addition, the authorities organized a large restriction zone around the aforementioned financial center and closed access to surrounding streets and road traffic throughout the area.
At the moment, hostage-taker’s demands are unknown, the TASS agency said.
Moscow has been under mandatory use of masks and gloves since last week as a measure to prevent the spread of the SARS Cov-2 coronavirus, responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic and here causing 1,934 deaths among 161,397 positive cases.
