Such equipment is intended for the Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Center at the Damascus Children’s University Hospital.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim expressed Syria’s appreciation for this Chinese initiative aimed to support the work of the center, which will provide services to hundreds of sick children, especially in the face of the US coercive economic measures and the unfair blockade that hinders the acquisition of necessary medical supplies and equipment.
Ibrahim reiterated Syria’s and China’s interest in strengthening relations in all areas, especially education and scientific research, and made reference to cooperation between universities of the two countries in this regard.
Meanwhile, China’s Ambassador Feng Biao affirmed that in recent years, his country has supported Syria in all international forums in order to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and has always rejected external interference in its internal affairs.
The diplomat highlighted China’s aid provided to the Syrian people during the health contingency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and assured that his country will maintain that assistance.
