At a crucial post-election stage, when parties and coalitions must determine the future configuration of the legislative and executive power, speculation about «external influence» in the processes in Montenegro, including that of Russia, revives, the Ministry affirms.
“Nor do we exclude provocations against our country,” considers the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement.
“Of course, we are in no way going to interfere in the internal affairs of other States and we expect similar behavior from all those who care about stability in the Balkans,” the official press release notes.
“We hope that the end of the parliamentary campaign will take place in a peaceful environment, without conflicts, growing tensions and phobias, and that the Assembly and the Government of Montenegro in the new formation will formulate priorities that respond to the interests of its people,” Moscow points out.
“We are closely following the development of the electoral process in that former Yugoslav Republic, where the summary of the results of the parliamentary elections held on August 30 continues,” the Foreign Ministry concludes.
