The Secretariat of Health informed on Sunday in its daily report that death toll reached 39,184 after reporting 276 deaths in a day.
But as about 1,000 deaths are unclassified and the vast majority of them test positive for Covid-19, Mexico expects to reach 40,000 deaths on Monday.
The country has an estimate of 50,098 active cases, which can infect, if the percentage of suspects who normally test positive is included.
This Monday and across the week, some 14 states woke up in red color -the highest contagion alert level-, while 18 others will keep in orange color.
Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Baja California Sur, which were in orange color, return to purple color due to a rise in cases transmission and use of hospital beds.
