India registered more than 80,000 new cases of the disease for second consecutive day and remains the world’s third hardest-hit nation in terms of cases and deaths, behind the United States and Brazil, though lethality rate is below 2%.
This nation reported this Friday 83,341 new cases and 1,096 more deaths due to Covid-19, totaling 3,937,017 people infected and 68,472 deaths from the virus.
Meanwhile, more than three million patients were discharged from hospitals, and the recovery rate in the country rose to 77.15%, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed.
The Covid-19 lethality rate in India decreased to 1.74%, and more than 70% of deaths have been due to co-morbidities, health authorities stated.
