Chile intends to increase the number of Colombian visitors, which last year amounted to 131,818.
Representatives of the tourism sector of the Bío Bío region and seven companies, among them an airline and operators that offer specialties of nature and adventure, will participate in this event, which will last until the 28th.
The Undersecretary of Tourism, Monica Zalaquett, declared that Colombia is a strategic market for Chile, which offers a variety of options and has established itself internationally as an adventure and nature destination.
For Andrea Wolleter, national director of the National Tourism Service (SERNATUR), this international action is essential in the promotion of the country, since ANATO represents an excellent instance to empower Chile directly through travel agents, tour operators and specialized press.
It will also allow to present the destinations that attract Colombians the most, such as Santiago, Valparaiso, Puerto Varas, San Pedro de Atacama and Elqui Valley, and encourage new ones.
The fair will also give Chile the possibility to promote new air routes from and to Colombia, especially through low-cost airlines, allowing this year for more seats and a higher frequency.
