Alarms on Ha Loi small town -about 11,000 inhabitants- were already on since in previous days there were eight positive confirmed Covid-19 cases.
However, this Monday, Vietnam’s only two reported are residents of this town and amounted the number of infected to 262. Both receive treatment at Hanoi Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
As authorities did with previous «red spots», a few days ago, they quarantined the village (in force for four weeks), reinforced healthcare professionals there and established checkpoints at their entrances, with the presence of police and army forces.
Today, in addition, 15 rapid response teams were dispatched and deployed to SARS-CoV-2 virus to support the Me Linh District Health Center, where the town is located.
So far, some 7,000 people in the area have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 and all were negative.
The locals were instructed to report themselves to medical authorities at the slightest symptom of the disease or to do so through a telephone number enabled for this purpose.
Thanks to the speed with which the country moves in cases like this, the timely issuance of preventive and control regulations, the effort of thousands of doctors and nurses, and the discipline of the population, Vietnam remains among the only three countries in the world that, despite having over 200 infected, does not regret human losses.
Up to date, the country reports the aforementioned 262 patients, but the number of recovered patients are 144.
In addition, the health authorities expect the number of infected to decrease in upcoming days, as some 25 people have already tested negative for the first or second Covid-19 tests.
