In the analysis, the work of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents in Bolivia´s municipalities was reviewed, detecting «some deficiencies in the care of cases of violence and without displaying its full potential in timely actions to protect this population.»
Based on the results, the Ombudsman, Nadia Cruz, asked the state institutions to coordinate some actions aimed at preventing, protecting and restoring the rights of children and adolescents in view of the increased complaints about family violence since health emergency was decreed.
According to the official website of the Ombudsman, 867 cases of family violence were registered since the quarantine was decreed and until April 20, most of them involving children, adolescents and women.
