A report from the Angolan press agency (ANGOP) disclosed the delivery of legal instruments to join to international treaties referring to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the Statutes of the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, as well as the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer.
That last instrument confirms the states’ willingness to reduce the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons, ANGOP noted.
The formal deposit of the documents took place this Monday, after the approvals by the National Assembly (unicameral Parliament) and the corresponding signatures of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, were received.
The documents were sent to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as faithful depositary of the mentioned treaties, in compliance with the established formalities, after ratification by the States parties.
