CARICOM concluded a six-week stay in Guyana in order to support the development of recent elections and collect information to contribute to final declaration of the elections.
LaRocque thanked CARICOM its commitment, professionalism and integrity for their services to Guyana and the Community, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
CARICOM´s team arrived on May 1 for the vote counting, which began five days later and ended on June 9 with final certification.
According to the Guyana Chronicle, the report submitted by CARICOM´s observers will join that of Elections Director General Keith Lowenfield so as to guide the Guyana Election Commission (GECOM) in its final decision on whether to make a statement based on the data collected from the count.
