In a statement to Prensa Latina, Bejar stated that «Jeaninne Añez has paid tribute to those who assassinated Che Guevara,» during the recent 53rd anniversary of his assassination in Bolivia.
The text also added this affront is only an insignificant part of different rulers like Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro, who «want to force us to go back to the Middle Age, implementing a savage capitalism and a new inquisition in the name of the Christian Bible.»
Former leader of Peru’s National Liberation Army (ELN) – which supported Che’s struggle in Bolivia – added that the Argentine-Cuban revolutionary was not in a foreign territory when he was captured and killed, he was wounded and defenseless.
«It was a Latin American territory, and Bolivia is part of Latin America. As Sucre and Bolivar, or Manuel Dorrego, Manuel Belgrano or Martin Güemes (Latin American heroes): they fought and achieved the independence of then Upper Peru, now Bolivia, without having been born in those lands» he added.
Like them «Juan Pablo Chang, Julio Dagnino, Restituto Cabrera, Lucio Galván, the Peruvians who joined Che, were not born in Bolivia but they loved her much more than Mrs. Añez.»
«Whether savagery does not have any nationality, neither does the fight for justice,» the statement said.
